Oracle Business Support Supervisor, General Ledger

The Oracle Business Support Supervisor, General Ledger, is responsible for providing centralized support for the Oracle General Ledger (GL) and Oracle Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) modules. This role partners closely with business and technical teams to develop a clear and accurate understanding of business drivers, enabling informed decision-making and execution of business strategies.

The supervisor owns production support processes, coordinates with business users and system owners, tracks and resolves support tickets, and supports system enhancements. They also provide user training, to ensure successful completion of testing activities. This position requires a strong combination of financial and operational business expertise, supported by a solid understanding of enterprise financial systems and technical processes.

This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

The Oracle Business Support Supervisor, General Ledger, leads global Oracle GL support operations and manages a team of five employees, including three direct reports. This role partners closely with Finance and IT stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, system stability, and continuous process improvement across the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global team supporting Oracle GL and AHCS production activities
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback, career development guidance, and knowledge transfer to team members
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, standards, and best practices across the team
  • Serve as the primary reviewer for core daily tasks including currency rates, CVRs, code combinations, and partner with manager on Chart of Accounts governance and related controls

Month-End Close & Production Support

  • Oversee month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial close within Oracle GL
  • Monitor critical Oracle AHCS, revaluation, and related close processes to ensure successful completion
  • Track, analyze, and escalate close issues, identifying trends and root causes
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to recommend and prioritize defect resolution and system improvements
  • Establish and maintain consistency across close processes, reports, and reconciliation methodologies

Systems, Enhancements & Controls

  • Coordinate and oversee monthly Oracle GL regression testing activities
  • Partner with IT and business owners to support system upgrades, enhancements, and defect remediation
  • Participate in quarterly SOX audits, providing documentation and responding to audit inquiries as needed
  • Ensure system changes align with governance standards, financial controls, and reporting requirements

Annual Housekeeping & Risk Management

  • Lead the annual housekeeping process in partnership with management, IT, and business teams
  • Develop and communicate timelines, guidance, and expectations for housekeeping activities
  • Review allocation sets, code combinations, and Chart of Accounts metadata for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and assess areas of potential risk prior to housekeeping execution
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned discussions to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or IT
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting, finance, or IT experience
  • Must have experience in financial systems in an enterprise environment
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze large datasets, perform reconciliations, and financial reporting support
  • Must have experience interacting with senior finance leadership, and managing highly confidential financial information with discretion
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age

Preferred:

  • Have project management skills
  • Have working knowledge of Oracle General Ledger (11i, R12, Cloud), Oracle Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) modules, Jira, Data Relationship Management (DRM), OneStream, and RPA Tools
  • Have prior supervisory experience
