Operations & Maintenance Support Lead

The Operations & Maintenance Support Lead is an operationally focused role responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Condamine Power Station and associated equipment. The role plays a key part in supporting performance, compliance, and continuous improvement through hands-on leadership, technical oversight, and collaboration with internal teams and external service providers.
Based on site at our Condamine Power Station, the Operations & Maintenance Support Lead reports directly to the Condamine Power Station Manager.
With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:
- Provide backfill support for the Station Manager during periods of leave, including completion of monthly reporting obligations.
- Lead weekly and monthly planning meetings to ensure operational alignment and progress tracking.
- Participate in a 24-hour shift roster (as required) to support operational and maintenance staffing shortfalls.
- Monitor Gas Turbine HMI (as required), ensuring compliance with setpoint targets and operational modes; lead investigations into anomalies or performance issues.
- Develop operational staff capability in fault finding, logic navigation, alarm management, and response protocols.
- Plan and implement rectification actions for defective plant and equipment, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Perform or supervise maintenance activities, including oversight of contractors where applicable.
- Liaise with external organisations and service providers to meet daily maintenance requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and document maintenance work authorisations, ensuring compliance and traceability.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of key operational events, plant history, and maintenance activities; review operator data for completeness and accuracy.
- Identify internal and external resourcing requirements to support planned work scopes.
- Plan and coordinate routine and opportunity maintenance, plant modifications, and installations.
- Compile and oversee operational and compliance reporting, ensuring data integrity and timely submission.
- Lead HSSE systems and processes within scope of responsibility, including Permit to Work (PTW) and risk management controls.
- Manage SAP functions onsite, including sourcing quotes, generating purchase orders, and receipting goods.
- Oversee maintenance platforms, including PM generation, work order development, store inventory, and backlog management.
- Track and reorder store items as required to maintain operational readiness.
- Develop and maintain digital platforms to support operational and maintenance data collection and compliance obligations.
What you'll bring

- Experience in a leadership position in the maintenance and operation of gas turbines and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Excellent understanding of budget development principles and budgetary control.
- Ability to oversee maintenance platforms and supporting systems for overhaul planning.

Qualifications & Licenses
- Electrical trade, Industrial or Generation experience (I&C Qualification desirable)
- Tertiary Qualifications / Advanced Trade Qualifications (Engineering background)
- Cert4 or higher in maintenance planning
- CMMS platform training
- Confined space
- CPR/LV Rescue
- Motor vehicle license
- Forklift license
- HV Switching Qualification (Desirable)
- Type B Qualification (Desirable)
- Boiler advance(Class BA) (Desirable)
- Turbine Operation (Class OT) (Desirable)
