Transportation Services Supervisor
Hours: Shift Start Time: Variable. Shift End Time: Variable. AWS Hours Requirement: 8/40 - 8 Hour Shift. Additional Shift Information: Start time and end time varies between 6:30am - 5:30pm. Weekend Requirements: No Weekends. On-Call Required: No. Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $25.310 - $31.640 - $37.970.
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Schedules and supervises the day-to-day activities of Sharp's Transportation services.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 Years experience in a health care setting.
Essential Functions
- Community transportation services Applies knowledge of transportation services available in the community to meet patient needs. Assures that clients are referred to the most appropriate agencies.
- Human resource management Assists with hiring, coaching and corrective action Gives feedback for staff performance appraisals Orients and mentors new staff into roles Encourages and assists staff to learn and grow Completes timecards and payroll corrections Assures that workers comp, QVR's and auto accident claims are processed in an accurate and timely manner Manages department in manager's absence
- Patient transport Schedules transportation appointments to utilize vehicles and drivers for maximum efficiency. Demonstrates proper procedure when answering the phone. Demonstrates proper procedure when scheduling passengers to facilitate timely delivery of service. Assures passenger rides are efficient and convenient. Educates passengers on how to utilize the service. Demonstrates good communication skills in identifying needs of the caller quickly. Identifies special needs and communicates needs to drivers. Functions effectively in stressful situations. Completes daily schedules within designated time frames.
- Record maintenance Gathers and reports required statistical data. Demonstrates knowledge of data recording. Assures that all reports are accurate and timely.
- Scheduling, monitoring and directing daily activities Demonstrates proper procedure for scheduling drivers to meet volume and staffing requirements. Assures drivers have scheduled breaks, lunch periods, and time for vehicle inspections and schedule review. Assures drivers are used efficiently to meet volume needs. Monitors overtime needs. Modifies driver's routes and schedules accordingly when volumes drop and vehicles breakdown. Supervises clerical staff, van drivers and volunteers to assure maximum productivity
- Vehicle maintenance Identifies routine maintenance needs. Assures that routine maintenance is performed in a timely manner for each vehicle. Applies knowledge of repair vendors, tow companies and leasing requirements. Arranges for emergency repairs as needed. Arranges for vehicle rentals and backups as needed.
