Our business line Natural Resources - Oil, Gas & Chemicals conducts port-bound inspections, controls, and analyses in the oil and petrochemical industry. The activities mainly consist of performing quantitative and qualitative inspections and analyses on a very wide range of liquid petroleum/petrochemical products.

For our head office in Spijkenisse, we are looking for a colleague who will strengthen the sales team and focus on, among other things, bringing our service to the attention of and selling it to customers and prospects. Your customers and prospects are companies active in the storage, transport or processing of biofuels, sustainable chemicals or other products within the energy transition. SGS tests these products for quality and quantity. The competition in the area and in this growing market is great, you see this as an opportunity and selling a service as a challenge! You also feel at home in an international organization with a complex business structure.

In the role of Sales Executive, you are responsible for achieving the set sales and margin targets. You work from the office in Spijkenisse, occasionally a day at home to update your administration, and you are often on the road and on client visits, for which you also travel abroad.

Networking is an important part of your role, you already have a network or build it up, you create visibility at the terminals and attend networking events. You are also responsible for expanding your network and customer portfolio. You get energy from achieving targets, you scout the market for new opportunities and you do not shy away from acquiring, cold or warm leads you will follow them all.

Your job package also includes:

  • Setting up the annual sales plan
  • Making offers
  • Giving presentations to customers and prospects

Function Requirements

You will have enough room to use your network and acquisition skills in the way in which you are most successful. You work at mbo-4/hbo-level, a completed education in a commercial direction is a good basis but work experience is more important to us. To be able to communicate well with your customers, you have a good command of Dutch and English. Knowledge of the German language is a plus. Of course, you have a driver's license B so that you can visit your customers.

The following experience we would like to see on your CV:

  • Knowledge of the activities within the Quality and Quantity department of OGC at SGS, gained through work experience as a Customer Service Employee, Cargo Inspector or Analyst.

Or

  • Work experience in a commercial position with sales responsibility, within the renewable energy sector, for example focused on biofuels, sustainable chemicals or alternative energy storage.
