SGS's Industries and Environment services help businesses ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance through testing, inspection, certification, and consulting—supporting sectors from manufacturing to infrastructure and environmental management.
We are looking for an experienced Inspection Engineer, to be based primarily at one of our prestigious clients sites located close to Pembrokeshire, with the potential for occasional travel to other sites located along the M5 corridor.
You will be part of our team of highly skilled experts in their field, in the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company. You will be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal skills open to new ideas and enjoy working with your colleagues in a friendly and supportive work environment to deliver a high service level to our clients.
As an Inspection Engineer with SGS, you will act as a competent person, examining client's assets to a high standard in a consistent and professional manner, ensuring compliance with current regulatory and statutory requirements. You will also ensure the quality and accuracy of examination records to report the ongoing suitability, defects, omissions and observations back to the client.
Minimum level 4 qualification (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field
Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship
Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
Full Driving license valid in the UK.
Knowledge & Experience
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulations such as PSSR, COMAH and PUWER is essential
Industry Comprehensive experience of inspecting all types of pressure vessels, pipework and tankage steam pressure equipment, , ideally in one or more of the following industries:
Knowledge of LOLER regulations and experience of inspecting lifting equipment, lifts/elevators and cranes would also be advantageous.
Able to work at height and in confined spaces.
