The Development Productivity Team focused on the internal developers at ServiceNow! The company has grown quite a bit over the last few years. What worked for a company with 300 engineers needs to evolve to support the ever growing list of engineers we are hiring every day. Our group constantly evaluates the current development pipelines, local developer environment, and release infrastructure in an effort to provide the best developer experience possible.

What you get to do in this role:

• Participate in all technical aspects of team deliverables, including quality, performance, maintainability, and scalability
• Communicate technical decisions (architecture and design) to business and engineering
• Evolve ServiceNow's end-end CI/CD pipeline to speed high quality software development
• Implement AI assistance tools at every stage of our SDLC ​​​​​​​Leverage AI to identify and assist with the automation of testing gaps of a mission critical product used by thousands of companies worldwide
• Optimize the performance and reliability of our mission critical developer pipeline
• Work closely with developers across the company to help reduce developer friction
• Evaluate software vendors and cloud technologies
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing
• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable software components with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, owning features from design through delivery
• Build intuitive and extensible user experiences using modern UI frameworks, ensuring flexibility for customer-specific needs
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing product capabilities.
• Integrate automated testing into development workflows to ensure consistent quality across releases.
• Participate in design and code reviews ensuring best practices in performance, maintainability, and testability.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration and performance aspects
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing best practices in engineering and quality
• Promote a culture of engineering craftsmanship, knowledge-sharing, and thoughtful quality practices across the team.

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.

• Passion for developer productivity and happiness
• Passion for quality and deep experience with the test pyramid and modern testing frameworks and techniques
• Experience with agile cloud software development strategies and DevOps
• Deep experience with the large cloud providers including AWS
• Capability to manage multiple projects with material technical risk across teams and processes
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, TestNG) and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding software quality principles including reliability, observability, and production readiness.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and optimize performance across the stack.
• Experience with AI-powered tools or workflows, including validation of datasets, model predictions, and inference consistency.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with Java and JavaScript and modern IDEs such as IntelliJ
