Field Service Technician

Serco is seeking a Field Service Technician in Newport, RI. The selected candidate will install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment as well as identify, analyze, and repair product failures, order and replace parts as needed. In addition, the candidate will determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs. The candidate relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The coordination of all work efforts will need to be performed in accordance with applicable health, safety, technical and QA requirements.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your DoD Secret security clearance.

In this role, you will:

  • Be involved in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintaining of a variety of products and equipment
  • Identify, analyze, and repair product failures and order and replace parts as needed
  • Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs
  • Utilize general test equipment and special purpose equipment to perform troubleshooting, test equipment set up and operation, repair, and configuration management for the SubHDR
  • Utilize general test equipment and tools and special purpose equipment to perform specific, detailed procedures (e.g., mate/unmate the SubHDR MEG from the APG) and to perform specific tests of the components as well as support OTA testing for the SubHDR to be RFI.
  • Perform and coordinate all work efforts in accordance with applicable health, safety, technical and QA requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • U.S Citizenship required
  • A High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Technical knowledge of SATCOM equipment
