Sentara Health Plans is hiring a Customer Service Representative I for a Full Time, Swing shift position. Hours are from 9:30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. No nights and no weekends. Ideal candidates will have a high-volume call center background in insurance or healthcare industries.
This is a Hybrid position that can be based out of Glen Allen, VA or Virginia Beach, VA. The first 90 days will be required to be on site and hybrid scheduling available after training is completed. Ideal candidates must be able to report on site at one of these two locations during both training, mandatory meetings, and any on site dates that are required.
The Member Services department for Sentara Health Plans covers an average per representative volume of 40-50 incoming calls per day to answer inquiries, assist with issues, and discuss member eligibility. Comprehensive 6-week training is provided for best-in-class customer service for our members and subject matter experts are on hand for in depth one on one sessions. This role offers promotional evaluation opportunities and growth starting at 6 months of hire.
The Customer Service Representative I is responsible for all areas of customer service as it pertains to research and resolution of telephone inquiries from members or patients. Primarily responsible for handling incoming calls to effectively address issues related to either member eligibility, plan prescription benefits, and claim payment issues or patient services needs such as updating billing information, establishing payment plans, resolving payment inquiries, or patient scheduling.
