Operations Intern

Seneca Foods is one of North America's leading providers of packaged fruits and vegetables with facilities located throughout the United States. Seneca holds the largest share of the retail private label, food service, and export canned vegetable markets, distributing to over 90 countries. Seneca also provides vegetable products to other companies under various co-pack arrangements.

Seneca Foods Corporation of Mayville is currently seeking an Operations Intern to join its team for the 2026 production season. This internship will gain hands-on industry experience working with our location management team during our busy production season.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with warehouse, manufacturing, and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow between departments.
  • Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques (waste observation/elimination, recovery, etc).
  • Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety.
  • Analyze and evaluate methods of production and communicate ways to improve current practices.
  • Assist in the overall management of the production facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work, communicate, and function within all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to follow established protocols.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities.
  • Ability to work extended hours/weekends as needed during the season.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc).
  • Must be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field).
