Connectivity Engineer

Are you passionate about digital transformation and production development? Then this role is for you – a chance to be part of something entirely new.

We are now seeking a Connectivity Engineer for our Operations Technology & Industrial IoT department. We are responsible for driving the digital transformation towards Industry 4.0 within our cutting production in Fagersta.

Short about us and our future

At Seco Tools, we have a company culture symbolized by genuine family spirit and personal engagement in our customers' everyday lives. Our strong value foundation also gives us a common vision on the business which unites our employees across both geographical and cultural boundaries.

Important focus areas in the coming years are to increase the automation level and to implement various digitalization and visualization solutions in our cutting production. We therefore need to strengthen our team with you who want to be part of developing the future factory and implementing the latest digital technology in our production systems.

Job duties

In this role, you are responsible for the connection of our machines and production equipment to our production data platform (PDP) for the production unit in Fagersta. Together with our production engineers, you work to identify and connect the most relevant signals for streaming data from our production processes.

You apply techniques within IIoT, Edge Computing, and server environments, and you implement integration solutions towards surrounding systems. You collaborate with surrounding units such as IT, Maintenance, and our global Operations organization which spans across our various production units around the world.

You work at our office in Fagersta and have the opportunity to combine office presence with working from home a few days a week.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have an engineering education combined with knowledge and curiosity in digitalization and application of new technology, preferably in a production environment. You have knowledge of industrial communication protocols, networks, software and system development in e.g. C# and Python. Since we work both locally and globally, it is important that you have good knowledge in both Swedish and English.

As a person, you are engaged, driven, and accustomed to working independently. You have an analytical and structured approach in combination with a practical hand and a genuine interest in technology. You are communicative and show good collaboration skills in contact with your internal and external stakeholders. Through innovative problem-solving, you transform challenges and possible obstacles into opportunities.
