Senior Financial Analyst, Store Operations

We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual with financial planning and analysis experience to join our finance organization. The Senior Financial Analyst, Store Operations will be responsible for supporting financial processes and cross-functional partnerships for our Store Operations areas across Nordstrom and Rack stores. Specific responsibilities include supporting continuous planning and forecasting, operational analysis & reporting, as well as ad hoc requests supporting key investments for our business and understanding key drivers of business performance.

This role is hybrid in downtown Seattle, WA and will require you to be in office 4 days per week. We are not offering relocation for this role.

A day in the life...

  • Analyze and present store operations performance through reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Manage key processes and provide business insights and storylines related to the reporting of planning cycles and monthly close results.
  • Run weekly SQL queries and maintain a unit driver database within Anaplan.
  • Partner across Finance, Store Operations and other cross-functional teams to anticipate future business challenges and opportunities.
  • Use a variety of data sources to enhance and build detailed financial models, track & analyze operations KPIs, and uncover trends.
  • Act as a key finance contact to the business and communicate effectively with non-financial leaders.
  • Analyze data to drive actionable outcomes.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned, synthesize and clearly communicate findings to support leadership-level decisions.
  • Proactively drive improvements and simplify existing reporting, forecasting and continuous planning processes.

You own this if you have...

  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Proven experience in analysis, modeling, and reporting financial performance, with a strong sense of curiosity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint and SQL, experience with Hyperion-Essbase, Anaplan, and Tableau a plus.
  • Ability to independently develop processes and deliverables from general direction.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, data integrity and accuracy.
