Software Engineer Intern

SEL's Government Services Department is seeking a team-oriented candidate to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you are a current student looking for an opportunity to develop your software engineering skills, sharpen your team communication skills, learn from world-class engineers, and enhance your academic learning, then this may be the position for you!

As a Software Engineer Intern, a typical day might include the following:

• Soliciting requirements from SEL process owners.
• Implementing software design.
• Participating in code reviews.
• Supporting SEL's software development process.

This job might be for you if:

• You are a current student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent with at least one year of technical coursework completed.
• You have programming experience in Go, Typescript, C#, Python, or equivalent programming language, or are eager to learn.
• You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• You can work cooperatively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with or interest in Go, Typescript, C#, or Python.

Location Information: This position is based in our Pullman, WA headquarters. You'll enjoy Pullman if you enjoy vibrant college towns and abundant access to the Pacific Northwest's world-class outdoor recreation areas while still having easy access to larger metro areas. Pullman is home to one of Washington State's top school districts and enjoys beautiful four seasons.

Pay Range Data: ($19.50 - $32.50 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
