As a mechanical engineer within Magnetics Engineering, you will help to specify materials and construction for PCB mounted magnetic components and design the fixtures and tools required to manufacture and test them. You will leverage SolidWorks CAD tools and in-house manufacturing capabilities to help bring your ideas to life, then put those designs through an entire suite of compliance and environmental testing to ensure the components live up to the quality standards SEL has become known for.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Required qualifications include a B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years' experience in three or more of the following areas: electromechanical packaging design, heat transfer, materials and processes, mechanics, computer-aided design, electronic manufacturing techniques, production fixturing design. Strong problem solving skills, strong project management experience, strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities, ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, background check results satisfactory to SEL, negative drug test result(s). Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident. Preferred qualifications include 2+ years SolidWorks experience, industrial plastics design, machined component design and DFM, experience working with electronic components & materials, experience working with UL or UL EIS.

Pay range for position is $97,700-$144,400 per year. Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
