SCHALKE develops and sells rail-bound transport systems for underground mining. Rail special vehicles are also part of the program.

Die Schalke Locomotives GmbH is a subsidiary of the Canadian Nordic Minesteel Technologies Inc. (NMT) from North Bay, Ontario. This company has purchased the rail vehicle business field of Schalker Eisenhütte Maschinenfabrik GmbH in 2018, which had already developed and sold rail-bound transport systems for underground mining in the previous years with NMT. The Schalke Locomotives GmbH continues the SCHALKE brand name for rail vehicles. Special vehicles for rail passenger transport are also part of the product range.

Tasks

• Basic and detail engineering of rail vehicles in the field of mechanics with the 3D-CAD system SolidWorks
• Creation of manufacturing drawings and parts lists
• Creating and managing article stems and parts lists in CAD
• Creation of welding drawings according to DIN EN 15085
• Review of manufacturing documents and constructions
• Creation of construction and functional descriptions
• Technical clarifications with suppliers
• Support of external design services from engineering firms

Qualification

• Completed engineering degree or technician training
• Focus on mechanical engineering/rail vehicle technology or mechanical engineering with experience in mechanical design
• Profound knowledge of SolidWorks and office products
• Interdisciplinary and independent working style, team capability, entrepreneurial thinking (cost-awareness)
• English language skills
• Travel readiness within Germany and abroad (occasionally)
