Position Title: Kreasi Learning and Evidence Support

Program: Kreasi

Duration: 7 Months (with possible extension)

Location: National Office (Jakarta)

Background: Kolaborasi untuk Edukasi Anak Indonesia (KREASI), or Collaboration for the Education of Indonesian Children, is a program designed to accelerate the improvement of literacy, numeracy, and character education for pre-school and primary school students in 8 districts across 4 provinces in Indonesia. The program is funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) through the Multiplier Grant allocated for Indonesia.

Kreasi, and its Grant Agent, Save the Children Australia and Save the Children Indonesia as the in-country representative, were appointed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), with the endorsement of Mitra Pendidikan Indonesia / Local Education Group (MPI/LEG), a consortium of 17 international and local education stakeholder organizations. The program is closely aligned with Indonesia's national education goals, particularly the Merdeka Belajar initiative, which emphasizes essential and flexible learning processes tailored to the interests, talents, and needs of each student, focusing on holistic, relevant, and sustainable education.

Scope of Work: The Learning and Evidence Support will work under the supervision of the Manager of Research Evaluation Accountability Learning Monitoring (REALM). The role supports system implementation, research coordination, evaluations, program monitoring, partnership collaboration, and documentation for KREASI Programs. Learning and Evidence Support is an energetic, creative, and curious individual who loves evidence, excels at writing about it, and has experience communicating research results to diverse audiences.

Objectives: The objectives of the Learning and Evidence Support are:

  • Identify and address the knowledge or evidence gap programs and departments as well as at the organizational level.
  • Support evidence-based decision making in program development, implementation, and in the overall organization operation by providing high quality and timely information.
  • Contribute to tripling impact creation for children by effectively communicating evidence to inspire behavioral change, influence decision and policy making, reinforce follow up actions and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

REALM Support and System Implementation:

  • Assist in the implementation of REALM strategies and tools for KREASI program.
  • Support in the development and tracking of project-specific REALM plans and indicator performance frameworks.
  • Coordinate data collection activities and ensure timely and quality data entry and reporting.
  • Assist with monitoring activities to ensure program implementation aligns with plans.

Evidence and Knowledge Gap/Needs Identification:

  • Contribute to identifying the knowledge or evidence gap across programs, units, or departments and determining REA activities, goals, needs, priorities.
  • Support the planning and implementation of a coherent/coordinated REA activities to ensure all projects support evidence generation which demonstrates what works/not works for children.
  • Conduct or support analytical work on quality child rights programming to generate sectoral and cross thematic impact and learning for SC to achieve better outcomes and impact for children.

Evidence and Knowledge Generation/Production:

  • Creating online tools for data collection and real time analysis, visualization or dashboard using different apps (e.g., KOBO, Microsoft forms, google form, survey monkey) which is linked to Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Analyse the quantitative data using both descriptive and basic inferential analysis (e.g., cross tabulation, chi-square, correlation, t-test, regression) using SPSS or STATA. This can be done in collaboration with data analyst from pool of associates or SC staff.
  • Conduct simple meta-analysis to our ongoing projects data base to generate insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns across projects themes, places, and time.

Evidence and Knowledge Packaging, Communication and Utilization:

  • Compiling, formatting, summarizing information, content, reports, and translates complex sets of qualitative and quantitative facts into an "empathy focused-outcome driven engaging" presentation (e.g., graphics, charts, and multimedia audio-visuals)
  • Collaborate with REA team and projects team to identify compelling research stories and events that can be covered internally and suitable for external communications
  • Write, co-create, and copy-edit content for publication both electronically and in print to present research results/finding in an accessible format for wide audiences and written
  • Tailor all evidence content and presentation to various platforms, distribution channels, and wide audience within internal SC organization as well as its external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with cross department to deliver high quality and timely evidence, content, briefs, and other publication and communication materials.
  • Contribute to tripling impact creation for children by effectively communicating evidence to inspire behavioral change, influence decision and policy making, reinforce follow up actions and implementation. This includes monitoring the evidence utilization.

Knowledge Management and Learning:

  • Assist in compiling lessons learned, success stories, and key findings for reporting and learning agenda.
  • Support the documentation of project learning and its dissemination internally and externally.
  • Contribute to development by providing relevant data and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to ongoing learning agendas by assisting in study planning and execution.

Team Support and Coordination:

  • Maintain strong communication with field-based REALM staff and support their data/reporting needs.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for REALM-related meetings, workshops, and field visits.
  • Support data integration and quality assurance processes in collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, social science, management, or relevant statistical fields.
  • 3 years of experience in MEAL, research, or project monitoring within NGOs or similar institutions.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Kobo, Excel).
  • Experience supporting evaluations and generating program reports.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including proficiency in English.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding principle.

Key Stakeholders:

  • Internal Stakeholders: KREASI program team (Education Advisor, Child Protection & GEDSI Specialist, REALM Manager, Program Management Unit), and other technical advisors.
  • External Stakeholders:
    • Government partners: MoE, MoRA, MoWECP, and local education authorities.
    • School-based stakeholders: Teachers, TPPK teams, Satgas PPKS members.
    • Community stakeholders: Parents, religious leaders, community-based child protection networks.
