We seek an experienced Senior Automation Engineer, as part of the newly established Provisioning CoE in the Product Engineering board area. You will analyze, design and contribute to the implementation of our provisioning and integration automation self-service toolset, supporting the entire SAP's Cloud solutions portfolio.

The Provisioning CoE team directly contributes to the success of our corporate strategy by ensuring a harmonized Suite First experience, putting the customer at the center, and enabling a seamless up-sell/cross-sell across the portfolio.

In this role as a Senior Provisioning Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building self-service system provisioning and integration automation tools that enhance the efficiency of our SAP Cloud Solution teams, while maintaining strict adherence to SAP product standards and guidelines. You will contribute to a cross-functional group focused on delivering secure-by-default architectural solutions and self-service tooling, leveraging Infrastructure as Code principles.

Working both independently and in close collaboration within the small team of co-located engineers, you will use data-driven decision-making and engage with various stakeholders, including your Tech Lead, Operations engineers, Architects, DevOps specialists, and Product Management, to ensure the success of our automation initiatives.

You have a strong system provisioning automation engineering background, being responsible to design, develop, validate, ship and operate cloud native solutions at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of medium-size applications and technology validation showcases.
• Architect scalable and secure systems that integrate frontend and backend components.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technology development.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in system engineering and software development, with exposure to system provisioning automation and integration to enhance operational efficiency.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex integration needs and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• BA/MA/Diploma in a technical field of study.
• Cloud platform certifications related to architecture or development are considered a strong advantage!
• Standards definition engagement experience is an advantage (Eclipse Foundation, CNCF, Linux Foundation, Apache Software Foundation).
• Open source contribution experience? Don't hesitate to mention it!

Technical expertise:

• Front-End Technologies:
• Frameworks: Any frontend frameworks (strong advantage)
• Understanding how frontend works for both SPA and SSR approaches
• Back-End Technologies:
• Experience and understanding in OOP and design patterns
• Expertise with REST, RESTful and GraphQL
• Databases: Good understanding SQL and no-sql databases
• Understanding of event driven architectures
• DevOps & Cloud:
• Understanding of SCM systems and handling of development flows
• Expertise in of the following integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Apache Camel, IBM webMethods, Dell Boomi, etc, especially integrating SAP systems.
• Deep knowledge of containerization techniques and container orchestration
• Understanding and hands-on experience with at least one (or more) of the major cloud vendors (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Understanding and experience with CI/CD processes, practices and tools

Meet your team:

The newly founded Provisioning CoE team will significantly reduce time-to-value (TTV), improve customers' unboxing experience satisfaction, and drive tangible improvement across all the involved tools and processes concerning the PE applications portfolio. The team will define and drive the execution of a PE North Star strategy for consumption, provisioning, and integration, putting customers in the center and lowering their bar for entry from contract signature to go-live.
