We are an organization that works to fight food insecurity through education and a meals on wheels service to individuals with a loss of autonomy. We're looking for someone to join our team who's engaging, community oriented, and brings experience navigating challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
We compensate shortlisted candidates $75 per in-person interview in recognition of time and effort, and to support those with financial limitations who might not otherwise apply.

The Job
The incumbent plays a pivotal role in fostering community connections, identifying and disseminating vital community resources, providing active listening to the community, and empowering staff to effectively support individuals accessing the Roulant's communal space. This position involves proactively engaging with community members, assessing their diverse needs, and building a comprehensive network of internal and external resources. The Resource & Support Coordinator will develop and maintain accessible resource banks and databases, and will equip other staff members with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide effective support and referrals. This role requires a high degree of autonomy in developing and implementing strategies to enhance community support and resource accessibility, guided by the overall mission and objectives of the organization.
The Requirements
- Some education (1-2 years) or course work in social work, outreach, support work or providing care OR a combination of lived experience, education and training equivalent in contact with marginalized populations;
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a community-based setting, preferably with vulnerable populations;
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, colleagues, and clients;
- Experience with database management and office software use;
- Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications, bilingually in both French and English;
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines;
- Artistic and creative ability an asset.
The Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Meals-on-Wheels program manager, cultivate strong partnerships and connections with diverse community organizations and stakeholders to expand and reinforce the Roulant network of resources.
- Act as the referring point of contact for individuals seeking community resource referrals and support. Proactively engage with visitors to understand their needs and connect them with appropriate internal and external resources.
- Establish and nurture enriching relationships with individuals accessing the communal space from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs. Fosters a welcoming and supportive environment in collaboration with the Meals-on-Wheels team.
- Develop and maintain easily accessible and user-friendly resource banks, databases, and informational materials (both physical and digital) that encompass a wide range of services and supports available within the community. Implement a referral tracking system of community needs.
- Empower Meals-on-Wheels staff and volunteers by providing guidance and resources to enhance their ability to identify needs, offer initial support to individuals in the space, intervene appropriately, and make effective referrals to relevant services.
- Proactively identifies gaps in Roulant practices & web of external resources through the creation of new partnerships and nourishment of current ones. Collaborates with the Meals-on-Wheels team to suggest initiatives and strategies that can address these community needs.
- Represent the organization at community events and meetings to build awareness of available resources and foster collaborative relationships.
- Participate in shared elements of organizational life, such as welcoming visitors to the building, answering phone calls, operational shifts, weekly staff meetings, annual big events, and occasional committee work. Participation in relevant ad hoc projects as assignment by management and the direction.
The Pay And Perks
- Full-time, temporary role (with the possibility of becoming permanent);
- Dates: July - December 2025 (6+months);
- 35 hours per week;
- $24.68 - $25.54/hr;
- 500$ in quarterly bonuses, to support leisure and investments;
