IT Project Manager - Santander Digital Services

Santander Digital Services is the technology and operations team of Santander. Santander Digital Services is looking for an IT Project Manager based in Madrid.

Our work consists of designing and developing the software that serves the Business of Banco Santander, understanding the technologies and the possible risks they have for our clients, society, and shareholders. We are a very proactive team, and that is why we work with and for technology. Here, you don’t read manuals, you do, you test, and you propose initiatives to problems. Your mission will be to interpret the technical and functional requirements for their development, certification, and eventual productive release, leading and governing all phases of software development. In doing so, you will apply to the Santander Group strategies and computer patterns to deliver secure, reliable, sustainable, and effective solutions.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding the activity of our Business with the aim of offering them the best technological solutions to their needs, mainly through the development and maintenance of software.
  • Managing the execution budget within your area of responsibility.
  • Leading and coordinating all the necessary teams (internal and external) to deliver continuous value to our Businesses.
  • Ensuring the level of excellence of the service to our Businesses, meeting the commitments acquired with them and seeking to avoid client incidents.
  • Prioritizing and coordinating the transformation and continuous improvement initiatives of your area to achieve efficient management of times and budget.

The following requirements represent the essential knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position.

Professional experience:

  • Experience in management of technological projects, development and maintenance of software (management of teams, budgets, planning, deliveries...) (Mandatory).
  • Experience in the technological field for financial entities, valuing very positively the knowledge in asset securitizations, as well as in other balance sheet mobilization operations (Desirable).

Education:

  • From a higher degree (computer science and communications; electricity and electronics) to a degree in engineering (computer science, telecommunications, industrial, etc.), mathematics, or similar studies; that allow you to have a base on which to build your development and contribute to your work. (Mandatory)
  • Training and/or certification in project management and software development (PMI or similar). (Desirable)

Languages:

  • Spanish. (Mandatory)
  • English. (Intermediate level) (Desirable)

Technical skills (Hard skills):

  • Good handling of Microsoft Office tools. (Mandatory).
  • Good handling of JIRA tool. (Mandatory).
  • Expert knowledge in: Java development, microservices and APIs, SpringBoot, Openshift. (Mandatory)
  • Valuable knowledge in Angular, microfrontends. (Desirable)
  • Valuable knowledge in BigData (Phyton, Spark, etc). (Desirable)

Interpersonal skills (Soft skills):

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies. (Mandatory)
  • Ability to work integrated in high-performance teams. (Mandatory)
  • Ability to manage teams by influence. (Mandatory)
  • Ability to communicate and relate in complex environments. (Mandatory)
