Supervisor, Creative Services

Under the direction of the Director, Associate Creative, the Supervisor, Creative Services will be responsible for supervising Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, Yaamava', Palms, and Bear Springs content development utilizing a wide range of print and other traditional creative, photography, videography, and other multimedia, while adhering to organization standards across the established and approved brands. The incumbent will assist in training of creative team members, including adherence to established procedures for creating, submitting and archiving design files, use of project management solutions, and adherence to established organization design parameters. The Supervisor, Creative Services will also help organize, lead and provide direction for photo shoots and video production, as needed, and supervise creative concept, design, and multimedia solutions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Ensure brand identity and integrity through the creation and development of various Shared Services marketing materials, including traditional print and digital deliverables.
  2. Supervise, help organize, and lead stimulating, high quality photography and videography shoots for Tribal events, Yaamava', Palms, and Bear Springs advertising and promotional content, and other enterprise on-site and off-site events as needed.
  3. Supervise in production and process of Shared Services marketing materials, including but not limited to traditional print design, website, social media, mobile applications, email, online advertisements, and other platforms as needed.
  4. Work with the Creative Services Manager to review and help approve various creative materials. Supervise and oversee creative concept, design, and multimedia solutions.
  5. Assist in ensuring that messaging and promotional themes are consistent with the appropriate brand.
  6. Help drive innovation in all aspects of Shared Services: creative execution, brand experience, marketing tactics, workflows, and organizational structure.
  7. Assist in training new Creative team members and maintaining standards, for creation, submission, implementation of new digital practices, and file storage.
  8. Participate in meetings with internal Marketing management and stakeholders as needed to establish creative needs.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

Education/Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Marketing or Communication required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Marketing and Communications industry with focus on supervision, creative development in traditional print and digital work required. Four (4) years of experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
  • Compelling portfolio that demonstrates print and digital experiences and innovative design may be accepted preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of Mac OS and Windows Operating Systems with industry standard graphic design software including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Cloud; Word Office Suite and similar programs.
  • Motion graphics knowledge (After Effects and 3D programs) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of photographic techniques and equipment.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company's insurance carrier.
