Responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes, and driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing, process development, and assembly tolerance analysis. This work directly impacts the design, cost, and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection, and automation equipment design and qualification
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-35%
  • BSME or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Required to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies
  • Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis
  • Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability, and reproducibility
  • Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment
  • New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired
  • Proven track record of cost reduction, project management, and engineering design required
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles favorable
  • NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE experiences a plus
  • Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment machines
  • Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and PC-based control systems
  • JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience preferred

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 and $236,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
