Registered Nurse The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
Trauma Coordinator (RN Coordinator) The RN Coordinator assists with the direction of the nursing care and all related activities including customer service initiatives in the departments. Works collaboratively with the manager and assistant manager for the overall coordination of the clinical systems, processes, and the personnel in accordance with Sanford Health's mission statement, general & specialty nursing standards, policies, and procedures as well as other regulatory standards.
Registered Nurse Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care. Responsible for the planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Trauma Coordinator (RN Coordinator) Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process as the basis for nursing activities and care rendered, and demonstrates compliance with the applicable standards as well as hospital wide policies and procedures. Provides clinical RN support to the department. Maintains and utilizes consistently appropriate, professional and effective communication skills. Is responsible for promoting excellence in care, actively participates in customer service initiatives, process development, labor agreement compliance, personnel policy utilization, and aide with conflict resolution. Is responsible and accountable to the manager and assistant manager for the overall functioning of the unit, including rounding, bedside reporting and the development of improvements in processes. Is responsible for patient education as well as assessing self-learning needs and those of the department through staff observation and surveys. Utilizes and maintains supplies and equipment in a cost effective and safe manner, works collaboratively with multiple departments in achieving efficiencies. Becomes familiar with the lean for healthcare process. Documents and maintains data on patient's record, keeps statistical reports for the department focusing on preventing falls and decreasing medication discrepancies. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
