Responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating comprehensive patient services, and managing provider schedules. Serves as the primary point of contact for medical staff, patients, caregivers, and external healthcare organizations to ensure efficient communication and continuity of care. Maintain daily clinic, surgical, and call schedules for physicians and APPs in both Outlook and Epic, including managing time off, and scheduling/rescheduling meetings. Coordinate second opinions, impairment ratings, and shadowing experiences for students, including all communication and documentation. Support physicians with travel arrangements and CME conference registrations, including post-event expense reimbursement and CME material ordering. Assist with correspondence, transcription, referrals to tertiary centers, and legal requests such as depositions. Manage insurance denials, appeals, and peer-to-peer scheduling, and complete related documentation. Serve as backup for call schedule maintenance and assist with technical issues related to pagers, computers, and software by coordinating with IT. Handle various administrative tasks such as running reports, maintaining provider memberships, and supporting special projects or provider, nursing, and clerical requests as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post secondary education or equivalent training in a healthcare or business related field is preferred. One year of applicable experience.
