Sales Development Manager– Screens & Feeders – Africa

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Development Manager– Screens & Feeders – Africa to take responsibility for driving sales growth across Africa while building and leading a highly capable Sales Development and Support team. The role will be reporting directly to the Director Sales Development Screens & Feeders EMEA.

Purpose of the role:

  • Responsible to actively develop sales across Africa and build a highly capable and dedicated Sales development and Support team that enables the sales organization to improve customer satisfaction and improved market shares
  • The role requires a proactive, results-driven aftermarket AM focused individual, playing a key part in identifying growth opportunities within the business segment, driving customer success, and strengthening client relationships.

The job responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of sales for the respective sales areas.
  • Participate and be an active member within the Sales Development EMEA management team.
  • Coaching and management the screening solutions technical support team for Africa
  • Ensure smooth quotation support for SK-Range EQ inquiries across EMEA region
  • Working closely with the other sales development manager for Screening Media and Wear Protection to ensure a high level of bundling and an overall positive lifecycle development.
  • The scope includes the full portfolio of all screen ranges within the Africa region (SK-Range EMEA)
  • Research and analyse MAPL (Minimum Acceptable Pricing Level) and margin data for different regions to determine pricing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Track and analyse key market trends and competitive landscape to support business development and strategy formulation.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to retain and grow market share within the aftermarket sector.
  • Create and adjust plans based on market dynamics, competitive threats, and client needs.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align strategies and ensure consistent messaging to clients.
  • Develop and execute tailored customer success plans/WIN Plans to ensure clients and Sandvik entities maximize the use of products and services.
  • Design and deliver customer training materials, workshops, and resources to improve product knowledge and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and ensuring smooth onboarding and continued product adoption.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their business goals, challenges, and KPIs.
  • Proactively engage with clients to identify potential issues and ensure ongoing satisfaction.
  • Address client concerns promptly and work collaboratively with other departments to resolve any problems before they escalate.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews with clients to ensure goals are being met and opportunities for improvement are identified.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer satisfaction, product adoption, and account growth.
  • Continuously assess internal processes and tools to drive improvements in service delivery and customer experience.

EHS Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and workplace inspections.
  • Provide training and awareness programmes that reinforce Safety First.
  • Analyse trends and share recommendations to reduce incidents.
  • Support managers and employees with technical EHS knowledge.

Competencies:

  • Mandatory knowledge of vibrating equipment
  • Good understanding of mining site plants and process engineering

Profile Required:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Professional qualification at the level of Mechanical Engineer or Metallurgical Engineer or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in the African aftermarket sector, preferably within the mining, construction, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and margin optimization.
  • Proven track record of formulating and executing successful strategies for customer retention and account growth.
  • Experience in developing training materials and customer success programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

Other requirements:

  • Driving licence
  • The work includes extensive travelling to end customers, distributors and Sandvik sales entities
  • English plus other languages as needed within the SA
