Technical Specialist

Sandvik Mining and Construction USA, LLC is looking for a Technical Specialist in Elko, NV.

Your performance areas:

The Technical Specialist position will provide technical support to advance the automation features of underground mining drills and bolters equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Compile accurate data to address machine warranty claims and improve drills and bolter machines used in mining operations.
• Review equipment parts recommendations and address Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC).
• Investigate warranty claims proactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide technical expertise and feedback to respective factories engaged in the production of underground mining drills and bolter products.
• Conduct trials and in-field testing of new mining drills and bolter products or updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Perform technical mining equipment demonstrations to customers and distributors and exhibit drilling equipment features, functions, and benefits.
• Conduct on-site training for distributors regarding mining drills and bolter equipment use and operations.
• Apply knowledge of safety policies, and applicable government, customer, and industry regulations to find safe ways for customers to work with mining and drilling products.
• Provide in-field diagnostic troubleshooting of mechanical and technical issues for mining equipment, including repairs, modification, installation and complete resolution of technical issues when equipment is down.
• Provide input into the design and development process for drills and bolters, including in-field observations and feedback regarding machine functionality.
• Provide input regarding equipment performance necessary for equipment build-out, start-up, and factory acceptance testing.
• Optimize mining operator performance and provide continual training to increase customer and maintenance personal competencies.
• Report user feedback and audit recommendations to production factories and maintenance personal competencies.

Your profile:

• Associate's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering Technology and five (5) years of experience as Product or Technical Specialist
• The required five (5) years of experience must have included providing technical support, diagnostic troubleshooting, testing, modification, installation and commissioning for underground drilling equipment and bolters used in mining operations. Up to 50% domestic travel required.
