We are looking for a structured and experienced Manager to our IT Service Delivery function to lead the team and work closely with other SAP functional professionals and business/technical stakeholders throughout the whole Sandvik Mining business area. The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere, Finland or Stockholm or Sandviken, Sweden.

Purpose of the Role:

The SAP Platform Services Functional Manager plays a key role in the strategic development, architectural planning, and daily operational management of the SAP technical platform.

This position combines technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, aiming to ensure a smooth user experience, efficient technical support, and continuous service improvement.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the operational SAP platform team and ensure the effective functioning of the application portfolio.
  • Act as the technical architect for the SAP technical service portfolio, covering both SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • Coordinate the delivery of technical support and build activities, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines and SLAs.
  • Develop long- and short-term architectural strategies, including templates, guidelines, and roadmaps.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance models and architectural standards across the program level.
  • Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement, especially in problem management and service development.
  • Represent the SAP platform services team in customer, partner, and vendor engagements, such as RFIs and investment pre-studies.
  • Manage monitoring and escalation mechanisms for critical application services.
  • Lead technical relationships with the SAP AMS support service provider.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP environment security regulations and IT governance requirements.

What can you bring to our team?

We hope you have a strong background working for larger organizations, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

You will bring with you a broad knowledge of the SAP ecosystem and have a deep understanding and technical experience of both SAP & non-SAP applications and on-premise or cloud-based IT infrastructure.

Experience of large-scale SAP implementation projects (S/4HANA) is a merit and that you are familiar with Agile methods with a strong appetite for new technologies.

Role requirements in brief:

  • Extensive experience in SAP/ERP technologies and IT infrastructure (on-premise or cloud-based).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field.
  • Strong SAP Basis expertise combined with project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with internal and external audits.
  • Solid understanding of MS Azure cloud services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and guide the team effectively in dynamic situations.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and positive attitude.
  • Commitment to managing team capacity and task allocation clearly and consistently.
