Knowledge, Education and/or Experience:
• Requires a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• Diesel engine experience
• Truck repair experience
• Technical degree or certification is a plus
Skills:
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft Office skills
Abilities:
• Work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
• Use computers for web-based training and work order system
• Work independently in a field service environment while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer
• Exhibit a strong mechanical aptitude
• Possess a clean driving record
• Pass a DOT approved physical
• Must have your own set of basic hand tools and toolbox (list provided by shop)
Working Conditions:
• Exposure to varying weather-related temperatures (both inside and outside)
• Frequently works on scaffolding
• Moderate exposure to confined spaces, moving objects, and mechanical parts
• Moderate exposure to chemicals and fumes
• Moderate noise level
• Ability to join the On-Call rotation after introductory period
• Potential need to drive service vehicle to customer location to perform repairs
