Engineering Technician
Insight Global is looking for an Engineering Technician to support a federal client sitting at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. The candidate will be working to maintain and upgrade military base security systems across the nation. Responsibilities will include:
- Research and analyze network design
- Conducting engineering tests and troubleshooting on server validation platforms
- Technical functions in support of engineering
- Experimental testing to collect data and assist in research work
- Performing initial reviews of test result and uploading output data to appropriate repositories
- Troubleshooting when validation platforms fail to yield desired results
- Communicate results and prompt notification of any gating issues
- Support cross function engineers
- Build configure and test server validation platforms
- Installation of various PC operating system and software applications
- Configure/operate industry standard test and measurement equipment for debug and data collection
- Installation and configuration of network KVMs and power distribution units
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Two Year degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience working at an Engineering Technician capacity
- Experience working with COMSEC Equipment
- Experience in installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues in Windows/Linux OS environments
- Knowledge of general validation and automation principles
The work involves functions such as research, data analysis, development, design, evaluation, inspection, problem solving, production, application, standardization, testing, or operation of engineering facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, or materials. Can include up to one week of travel a month.
