Senior Information Assurance Engineer

GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Information Assurance Engineer in support of the Air Force AFSCI network. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an on-site only position. The responsibilities include designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and database products. The role involves conducting risk assessments, providing recommendations for application design, and participating in a wide range of computer security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. The position also requires the use of encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. Additionally, the role involves preparing security reports for government agencies, conducting ongoing monitoring of computer security requirements and compliance, and maintaining system security plans and risk mitigation plans. The contractor will follow all applicable ICD and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidance in performing day-to-day duties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma with 9+ years of experience or equivalent experience, a current TS/SCI clearance, and one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, CISM, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCIG, GICSP, GSLC. Strong understanding of RMF workflow tools like eMASS or Xacta, strong working knowledge of programs working within AFSCI network rules and guides, experience with network management tools, network engineering principles, network analysis, and expert understanding of current computer security requirement and compliance are also required. Excellent written/verbal communications skills are necessary.
