Venture Operations Specialist

Role Overview
The Venture Operations Specialist role is responsible for all ventures data management and reporting, delivering operational excellence and strategic insights. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career (2-5 years) analyst who enjoys working extensively with data and AI tools, and is looking to break into venture capital. The successful candidate will have business level fluency in both English and Korean due to the global nature of the work. The initial priority for this role will be building and managing a "one source of truth" data repository for venture operations, finance/reporting numbers, and collaborations via Affinity and other tools. This role bridges venture operations, investments, finance, and business operations. This is a hybrid role based out of our Mountain View, CA office requiring in-office days typically three days per week. Additionally, evening, early morning, and/or weekend work may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a "one source of truth" data lake/repository for venture operations, finance/reporting numbers, and collaborations (POC, BD, etc.) via Affinity and other tools; leverage AI for efficiency.
- Manage, analyze, and streamline data to enable accurate, timely reporting for decision-making.
- Support monthly CFO reports. Participate in special projects such as capital calls.
- Provide support for executive level presentations - this may include data gathering and analysis, insight generation, strategy development and communications.
- Translate monthly memos, communications, important HQ roadmap slides, and other business documents from Korean to English or English to Korean.
- Facilitate communications across global teams, particularly between Korea and the U.S.
- Support strategic initiatives that align Samsung Next's investment focus with operational execution.
- Research and monitor emerging technologies and startup ecosystems (AI, digital health, robotics, blockchain, intelligent machines, etc.).
Qualifications
- Spoken and written fluency in Korean and English required.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in consulting, accounting/ audit, finance, venture operations, or related analytical role.
- Strong data analysis skills; proficient with Excel/Google Sheets, familiar with data visualization tools.
- Prior experience working with AI productivity tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a track record of reliability, diligence, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment, working across time zones on a regular basis.
- Deep curiosity about startups, emerging technologies, and global innovation trends.
- Familiarity with Samsung or other Korean owned, large multinational corporations a plus.
- Familiarity with Affinity and AirTable a plus.
Compensation
The hiring base salary range for this role is 125k-135k.
