Position Summary

In your role as a Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing desktop/mobile application software and wireless network software and hardware systems for business operations operating at multiple Samsung sites. You'll also be responsible for developing multiple program languages, acquisition & structure of data, wireless network design, network quality of service analysis, packet capture analysis, and network/device integration.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Development of applications used for collecting data for analysis, monitoring, and process improvement on critical operations or monitoring of application performance and data integrity.
  • Continuous improvement of user end experience and data processing efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot user reported system issues and support user requests for improvement or identified data gaps.
  • Find and consider external system dependencies when developing solutions.
  • Trace and understand existing source code written by previous developers.
  • Document development, testing, and release plans prior to implementation, as well as, review and validate peer development prior to implementation.
  • Works on complex assignments that require an in-depth evaluation of various system data structure & interfaces.
  • Manage and optimize wireless network performance within indoor and outdoor environments at large manufacturing facilities.
  • Administer and implement network service policies to maintain security and data integrity.
  • Understands implications of the system and the data it hosts to make recommendations for solutions and improvements.
  • Continuously revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in an effort to capture detailed processes and technical structure for future reference or for daily usage.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:

  • BS or MS in Engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in a software development and 2+ years of experience in a wireless network engineering.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming languages.
  • Experience working in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
  • Experience in Android development and implementation of modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
  • Experience with maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting large scales wireless networks.
  • Experience working with source code repositories (SVN, Git, etc.).
  • Web development experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with OSI (Open Systems Interconnections) frameworks to manage and support functions, features, and integrations of networks and applications.
  • Previous semiconductor experience, web development, project management certification and Korean language skills are a plus.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

At Samsung SAS, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
