Christmas Kettle Coordinator

To give overall direction & oversight to the Annual Christmas Kettle Program for Tustin Ranch determined by OC Coordination & Tustin Ranch staff.

Essential Functions

  • Recruit kettle workers and ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted to HR for approval.
  • Schedule bell ringers at approved locations.
  • Coordinate timely kettle pick-up routes for drivers and ensure kettles are safely at designated location.
  • Review kettle daily income reports throughout the season to use bell ringers successfully.
  • Coordinate with volunteers, Tustin Ranch corps members, advisory board members, women's auxiliary, rotary clubs, and other community groups to schedule volunteer day sign ups.
  • Work with the Orange County Command Finance staff on the counting, reporting and banking of money raised through the program.
  • Ensure kettle income is recorded accurately and properly in the Kettle Program software.
  • At the end of the season (November-December) make sure that all kettle equipment is secure in storage and send thank you letters to those who have allowed the Army to place kettles at their locations.
  • Prepare a brief that outlines every detail of the program for future use and review.
  • Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old
  • Driving Test and clean MVR check
  • If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
  • Valid California driver's license, auto insurance and personal transportation
  • Attention to detail, quality and professionalism
  • Work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Must be trustworthy, honest, & punctual
  • Very organized (scheduling bell ringers, pick up routes, etc.)
  • Understand the mission and purpose of the Christmas Kettle Program
  • Must have ability to work with, direct, and relate well with co-workers, community members, and guests/clients.
  • Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
  • Must possess good relationship skills.
