Seasonal Support Worker
About This Opportunity
Schedule/Hours: 35-40 hours per week, Monday-Saturday.
This position is responsible for assisting clients with Angel Tree applications, scheduling appointments, conducting interviews, determining eligibility, and entering accurate information into the program database. This role also supports seasonal operations by helping at Angel Tree stations, assisting with warehouse setup, sorting and moving donations, and ensuring smooth distribution of items to families. In addition, the Seasonal Support Worker may drive Salvation Army vehicles to transport donations, supplies, or kettle workers, while maintaining a professional and courteous interaction with clients, donors, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview clients, determine eligibility for Angel Tree assistance, and accurately enter information into the program database.
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, and provide courteous assistance and information to clients.
- Assist with Angel Tree operations, including manning stations, checking in clients, and distributing items during distribution week.
- Support warehouse operations by loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing donations, as well as assisting with drives and events.
- Safely operate Salvation Army vehicles to pick up or deliver donations, supplies, and kettle workers as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
- Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
What We Are Looking For In You:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.; and one year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
