Christmas Driver

Seasonal Full Time Christmas Van Driver

Schedule/Hours: Must be flexible

The position is responsible for:

Driving vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to assigned locations for Corps/Area Command Christmas Angel Tree program donations and gifts and/or Christmas Kettle program transportation of bell ringers to designated worksites; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving vans to transport bells ringers to kettle work sites and picks up bell ringers at designated work site back to Corps or Area Command locations.
• Driving vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from assigned locations to pick up gifts and take to the Christmas warehouse and/or Corps; organizes scheduled pickups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule.
• Driving vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to homes, agencies, churches and any other designated location to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. for delivery to the Corps.
• Driving vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from Drive-thru and/or drop-off events at Malls or other assigned locations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to read and communicate the English language effectively
• Ability to operate commercial equipment
• Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given
• Ability to perform general cleaning activities for building
• Ability to safely transport employees in a van
• Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture and protocol of the Salvation Army and conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles, conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
• Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing, and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25-50 lbs.) and possible heavy (50-100 lbs.) materials and donations.
