The Thrift Store Associate assists in the general operations of the thrift store. This includes processing donations, sorting, pricing, tagging, selecting and shelving, operating the cash register and other responsibilities as assigned. The Sales Associate will be responsible to keep the thrift store organized and clean at all times.
Is responsible for preparing merchandise for sale by pricing and tagging items and clothes according to pricing guideline, ensure that all production is taken from the donation center/sorting area and are properly displayed on the sale floor, enforce pricing policies (one price/no haggle), understand and comply with federal and state laws regarding the sale of used items including IRS tax regulations and department of labor bedding and upholstery restrictions, utilize the internet and social media to advertise the store and promote the highest value and highly demanded items as directed by store manager, assist with purging items from the store floor to ensure a continuous flow of new inventory, assist the Store Manager in creating an attractive shopping environment, which includes neatly stacking, shelving, and hanging clothing garments and other donated goods, ensure the thrift store is always organized and clean, which includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, dusting shelves, washing windows, etc., provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to customer inquiries and complaints, operate Cash Register, verily and sign donation receipts for items brought into the donation center, performs related duties as assigned.
