The Department of Marketing at Salisbury University's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Marketing. This is a full-time, tenure-track position expected to begin in August 2026.
Areas of specialization: Sales and Negotiation.
Primary job duties: Teach marketing courses at the undergraduate and possibly graduate level as per the needs of the department while maintaining an active research agenda. Utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners. The faculty would work closely with the department's sales center (MASMI). The faculty would also be expected to provide service to the department by being associated with all student events organized by the department/MASMI. The standard teaching load is 9 hours per semester.
Minimum qualifications: Doctoral degree or ABD in Marketing or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited university. If ABD, the candidate would be hired at the rank of Instructor with the requirement that the doctoral degree be completed within one year of the hire date.
Preferred qualifications: Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited university. Capable of meeting AACSB Scholarly Academic standards (SA) per the current definitions of the Perdue School of Business. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed marketing journals. Experience teaching Sales courses (Professional Selling, Sales Management, Advanced Sales) or Negotiation, and interest in teaching Business-to-Business Marketing. Preference would also be given to candidates who have experience in coaching sales students for sales championships and have more than 5 years of sales experience before their graduate education. Preference would also be given to candidates who can demonstrate excellence in teaching multiple courses from the above list.
