We are seeking a senior software engineer with a flair for programming, desire to maintain superior data quality and integrity, and passion to maintain our high level of customer satisfaction. A successful engineer will be one with a demonstrated history of learning, keen eye towards reliability and scalability, a mindset towards fast-paced growth, and someone that needs not just wants to work in a team. As part of this group you will be part of the team responsible for maintaining identity integrity, account management, and extending our capabilities to non-human objects such as AI Agents, bots, service accounts, etc. We are excited to build this roadmap of features for our customers and are looking for driven people to help us get there.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, implementation, and deployment of efficient, maintainable, robust microservices to deliver medium-to-high complexity features
- Set a high bar for code/design reviews and fortify the team's coding/quality standards
- Adopt an iterative, continuous improvement approach to ship and deploy product features
- Work in an agile environment, collaborate with peers on designs, technical refinements, code reviews, testing and customer issues
- Develop/adopt testing frameworks, test plans to improve code quality and continuous delivery
- Continue to maintain the "We built it, we maintain it" SailPoint culture
- Participate in the product OnCall and TechOps process
- Devise monitoring capabilities to analyze application behavior and performance
- Develop dashboards, alerts, and logging for our services to proactively monitor, catch, and mitigate potential Staging/Prod impacting issues
- Leverage training plans and service leads to quickly ramp-up on ISC product and technical knowledge
- As a member of this backend team, you will focus on feature development and bug support based on the product prioritization
- Mentor junior members and guide them on technical solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibilities
- BS in Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in developing server-side, object-oriented programming in Java and Spring Boot
- 4+ years of SaaS production support experience running on and utilizing cloud-native services from AWS
- 2+ years of experience in the implementation of event-driven architecture
- Experience developing microservices in multi-tenant SaaS application
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs for an API-first application architecture
- Experience using SQL/NoSQL, EKS, Kafka, Redis
- Experience using monitoring, alerting, visualization tools like Prometheus, Grafana
- Experience working with remote teams
- Great communication skills
Desired
- Experience writing software applications in Go
- Experience using Flink and developing complex queries
- Experience with Snowflake
- Design and architecture experience for small SaaS systems / solutions
What Success Looks Like In The Role
Within the first 30 days you will:
- Onboard into your new role, get familiar with our product offering and technology, proactively meet peers and stakeholders, set up your test and development environment
- Seek to deeply understand business problems or common engineering challenges and propose software architecture designs to solve them elegantly by abstracting useful common patterns.
- Invest time and energy into diving into some of the work items defined by the team.
- Learn about what it means to support our array of services and how everyone has a part to play on this team.
- Becomes familiar with our CI/CD processes and can fully deploy a work item.
By 60 days:
- Provide on-call support
- Able to identify the Subject Matter Experts on the team and is proactive in gaining feedback and advice
- Fully participate in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback)
By 90 days:
- Be familiar with aggregations and what they mean for identities, accounts, and non-human objects
- Understands the differences between human and non-human identities and accounts
- Utilize your skills to help solve complex problems and build out features within our roadmap
By 6 months:
- Collaborates with Product Management and Engineering Lead to estimate and deliver larger tasks and projects more independently
- Creates designs for low-to-medium complexity features
- Take a committed approach to prototyping and co-implementing systems alongside less experienced engineers on your team—there's no room for ivory towers here
- Occasionally serve as a debugging and implementation expert during escalations of systems issues that have evaded the ability of less experienced engineers to solve in a timely manner
- Share support of critical team systems by participating in calls with customers, learning the characteristics of currently running systems, and participating in improvements

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint's differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD): $109,200 - $156,000 - $202,800 Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee's home location.
