Individual must be able to support and conduct engineering tests by obtaining video recordings and setting up instruments with data acquisition PC. Additionally, the individual is responsible for packing evacuation systems as well as assisting in other areas as needed, including repairs, calibrations, 5S+1 activities, etc. This is a model shop technical level 3 position with a direct report to the Test Services Manager.
* Execute test per engineering inputs * Setup instrumentation devices and data acquisition PC * Operate video cameras * Digitize and organize video files * Upload and process instrumentation data * Rig, pack, and deploy evacuation systems * Install evacuation systems in mockups and support deployments * Perform instrumentation calibrations * Read and work from posted schedule. * Support testing at offsite testing labs or at customer locations * Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment with minimal supervision * Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture * Must be able to work overtime as directed, including limited evenings in support of Evacuation Rate Tests. * Other duties may be assigned in accordance with technical level.
* Ability to operate video hardware and software (GoPro, Sony Vegas is preferred) * Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) * Must have basic understanding of instrumentation principles * Must be able to work at heights * Must be willing to work year-round in the Engineering Test Center which is not climate controlled (cold weather gear will be provided)
