Our location: Issoudun (36), between Bourges and Châteauroux at the gates of the Loire and Touraine Castles (1h15 by car or train) in the Centre Val De Loire region which offers great spaces, a cascade of outdoor activities and the fiber for teleworking days. You will be responsible for a team of 8 people composed of design engineers and project designers dedicated to production support and series life of Safran seats. Your MISSION will consist of, as a manager, to:

• Ensure the activities of improvement of our designs in support of production and our customers with your team
• Estimate the load, plan it, assign tasks to your team members and make the reporting to the Director of the Study Office
• Ensure the adequacy of resources (human and material) according to the needs of development and technical activities
• Manage the group (individual interviews, service meetings, QRQC, communication, know-how, respect of internal operating rules, training, leave…)
• Set progress objectives for your team members, and verify their good achievement
• Hold the collaborators responsible for the entrusted activities
• Establish a working climate favoring the spirit of initiative, commitment, creativity and innovation
• Ensure the adequacy of skills with the development needs

Your OBJECTIVE will be to:

• Ensure the quality of the studies carried out internally or externally. Ensure the good justification of the definitions and launch the necessary validations in this regard
• Validate the technical documents in accordance with the habilitations and qualifications
• Ensure the capitalization of know-how in design (design guide, business guide…)
• Ensure the application of the procedures in force and ensure the standardization of components and sub-assemblies
• Validate the input data and specifications with the clients (internal and external), on the basis of the requests issued
• Participate in reviews with the clients when necessary
• Evaluate the risks related to the design
• Participate in calls for tenders to evaluate the feasibility, NRC costs and risks
• Provide technical support to other services (AQF, Purchasing, Industrialization,…)
• Exercise a critical filter on the requests for evolution, validate them and initiate them if necessary

The candidate ideally holds an engineering degree and has solid technical experience in the industry (minimum 8 years including 2 as a manager).

The candidate also masters the following aspects:

• Mechanics: Knows the techniques and methods related to the field of mechanics: specifics, materials, manufacturing techniques (e.g. machine tools, plastic, metalworking, screw techniques, machining, sheet metal…)
• Design Methodology: Knows the processes for designing products or materials (chain of measurement, static calculation, simple RDM, functional analysis, ISO codification, …)
• Technical Studies: Knows the methods and tools related to the field of Studies: review and quality of plan, PLM, CATIA (or other)…
• Product/Material Technicity: Understands all or part of a product or material in its technical aspects, knows the specifics
• Aeronautical Regulation (ideally): Knows the set of rules, standards and certifications related to the field of aeronautics (PART 21…)
• Product Industrialization Process: Knows the stages of development of a new product integrating the notions of Quality, Cost and Time
• Budget / Finance: Knows the main modes of operation of the budget management activity
• English: Knows how to hold a professional conversation, write written messages, read a document
• Office Software: Knows how to use office software from the Office pack
• Reading Technical Documents: Knows how to read, analyze and exploit a technical document
• Reading a Plan / Drawing: Knows how to read, analyze and exploit a plan/drawing
