Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice

The role is based at our Safran Composite Centre of Excellence facility in Banbury, UK – formerly the Crompton Technology Group (CTG) – which designs, qualifies and manufactures high-performance structural and non-structural aerospace composite products. We are looking to recruit a small number of apprentices who can support us with the growth of our Manufacturing Engineering team to meet the future needs of our industry. We believe in the power of innovation, collaboration and trust to guide us into the next era of flight making the skies and spaces we touch smarter and safer than ever. After completing a robust recruitment process our apprentices will be supported to embark on their career journey, throughout which they will receive a highly competitive remuneration and flexible benefits package. You will spend your first year attending The Engineering Skills Academy in Bicester where you will spend time learning the fundamental skills of our sector. For the remaining time you will work at on site at Banbury whilst undertaking invaluable work experience, where you will learn the basic principles and underpinning knowledge needed for your career. For the remainder of the programme, you will develop the skills and knowledge by completing Manufacturing Engineering projects under the supervision of our ME Leads. At the end of the scheme, you will achieve a NVQ Level 3 Engineering Technician and apprenticeship standard.

Job Requirements

• Have achieved Grade 5 (or equivalent) or above in Maths, English and Science. • Have good analytical skills and problem-solving abilities • Good personal management and self-organisation skills • Are effective communicators, both written and verbal • Pride themselves with attention to detail • Show a passion to work in aerospace or high-tech environment • Have a real desire to make a positive difference to our business and those we serve • Demonstrate a passion for hands on engineering
