Join the engineering compressor BP team at Safran Aircraft Engines in Magny-les-hameaux, Ile de France, France. This is a permanent full-time position requiring a master's degree and more than five years of professional experience in engineering and management. Fluency in English is required.

Job Description

Within the Industrial Excellence Center (CEI) Rotating Parts Studies Bureau, you will join the engineering compressor BP team. Reporting to the head of the Studies Bureau within the production flow, you will serve as the technical leader on low-pressure compressors (LEAP, CFM56, GE90). Your main duties include:

  • Handling non-conformities: Participate in the treatment of production deviations, bringing your experience to establish treatment strategies. Lead technical reconciliations of quality events and exported non-qualities. Verify the quality of deliverables produced in the service. Eventually, assume the role of technical validator 2.4 and/or Compliance Validation Engineer (CVE) if eligibility criteria are met.
  • Technical support for robustness activities: Carry the BE vision to organized instances with producers. Contribute to improving quality, costs, and production timelines through field actions (Part Review), feeding the CAD plan.
  • Progress initiative within the scope: Follow and share experience capitalization within the team. Participate in team skill enhancement through continuous support and being the technical focal point for technical questions. Oversee each activity by monitoring the workload jointly with pilots and unit head. Ensure the technical repository and its evolution, directly interfacing with study development and after-sales offices.

You will interact strongly with various stakeholders, such as business experts, methods, special processes, industrialization pilot, quality manager, supply chain, producers… In these exchanges, multidisciplinary skills and the ability to manage multiple subjects in parallel are essential.

Job Requirements

- You hold a degree of at least five years in general mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.

- You have at least five years of experience in the studies bureau, preferably on metal parts.

- You have knowledge in mechanical finite element calculations such as: RDM, stress calculations, life duration, static, and dynamic holding.

- You are familiar with tools: pre/post Patran/Workbench and mechanical solvers Samcef/Abaqus/Ansys. Proficiency in the design tool (Catia) is a plus.

- You have operational mastery of reading technical plans and are proficient in functional notation and chain of codes.

Good analytical skills and a critical mind, in the service of mechanical common sense, are necessary for problem-solving and interpreting results. Specific knowledge in production (metal parts manufacturing) is appreciated. You have good interpersonal skills, and teamwork will be an essential component for completing your missions. You demonstrate rigor, responsiveness, and good synthesis skills.
