Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team driving the design, development and execution of actuation systems program for the next generation of military and commercial aircraft. The Electrical Engineer works on the development of new products, and the improvement and sustainment of products. Engineering duties will span the entire product lifecycle, from initial design and requirements capture through manufacture and field support.
Essential Job Functions
- Candidate is expected to be able to lead the design of the required circuitry (Digital, Analog, and Power) and integrate the circuit design with software to support system architecture. Designs will be to Aerospace standards including but not limited to DO-160 and DO-254
- Integrate Hardware and software for embedded microprocessor devices and firmware-based FPGA devices.
- Design and development of embedded systems circuitry and printed circuit assemblies according to IPC standards.
- Generate design documentation including requirements specifications, design details, test procedures and reports.
- Prepare and review the drawings and layouts for production parts, components, and test equipment.
- Create, document and test software and hardware to validate design details
- Lead multi-discipline design reviews both internally with peers and externally with customers.
- Evaluate design changes for impact to product design, cost, and schedule.
- Ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects to achieve the company's strategic and financial goals.
- Product engineering estimates for individual tasks up to complete electronic designs.
- Lead and perform root cause investigation on new development and fielded products.
- Perform product troubleshooting and lab testing.
- Support trade studies and proposals
- Demonstrate an understanding of internal processes, methods, and tools.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Competencies: Education/Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited course of study or related field required.
- Experience as an Electrical Engineer.
- Experience within the aerospace industry is a plus but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be a self-directed individual requiring minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in the use of C software programming language.
- Fundamental circuit design skills and knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
- Experience in analysis and schematic layout software packages
- Familiarity with electrical analysis software
- Computer work and drawing interpretation, as well as a familiarity with schematics or Engineering drawings.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
- Evaluate concepts by creating analytical models and provide direction on which concept will meet component and or system level performance.
- Provide analysis support throughout the development of a product/concept
- Analyze data and performance of designs, recommend actions to create optimized design
- Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams. Work closely with engineers to identify opportunities for design improvements.
- Make business recommendations (e.g. cost-benefit, forecasting) with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.
- Fundamental typing skills as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and MATLAB.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and laboratory. Constantly operates and uses a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer and laboratory machinery. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across the office for various needs. 6. Work Environment The work environment is split between office & laboratory work, with most work being performed in the office. The noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the lab can occasionally require hearing protection.
