Job Title: Food Service Worker

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with meal preparation and set serving equipment up for delivery to child care rooms
Serve meals to youth at the Meskwaki Child Care Center
Coordinate menus for special needs
Make all site preparations for breakfast, lunch and snacks, as necessary
Attend to additional requests from child care staff during meals
Keep dining room and kitchen clean and in order
Clean and sanitize the counters, food storage and service areas
Pre-rinse dishes, place in dish washer, and follow all cleaning guidelines
Observe all safety practices
Attend training related to safe food-handling procedures and related areas
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate
Prefer 1 year of experience working in the area of food service with knowledge of sanitation procedures
Must possess SafeServe certification and CPR/First Aid Certification or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds with occasional periods of heavier lifting.
Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to frequently bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, balance, and push or pull equipment.
Required to wear tread safety/non-slip shoes.
Must respect Meskwaki cultural beliefs
Must be able to pass background check

Supervision: Will be supervised by the Child Care Services Director

Salary: $16.00

Applicants will be required to submit to a background check and to a pre-employment drug test.
