This role is part of our Prerender team, one of our growing brands at saas.group.
For nearly a decade, Prerender has empowered marketers to create dynamic, complex sites at scale, making their JavaScript websites easily indexable by search engines. We eliminate indexing and crawling limitations, allowing our customers to gain the upper-hand on HTML sites and rank higher on SERPs. More than 100,000 websites around the globe trust Prerender to serve more than 2.7 billion web pages to crawlers to improve organic search ranking.
As an Engineering Manager at Prerender, you empower teams to do their best work. You focus on creating the conditions for engineers to thrive: clear priorities, healthy processes, and a strong culture of collaboration and XP practices. You balance delivery and people growth, ensuring that our systems and teams evolve together sustainably.
Managers are servant leaders: they remove obstacles, not dictate solutions
We expect you to empower engineers to own their work end-to-end
You'll collaborate closely with product and design to form strong trios
Success is measured in team outcomes and sustainability, not individual heroics
You help keep the team aligned with Prerender's strategy and values
1:1s and coaching conversations; unblocking a teammate or facilitating a decision
Partnering with PM/Design to refine the next slice of work and clarify scope
Reviewing team health and delivery metrics (cycle time, WIP, incident follow-ups)
Joining a pairing session to understand context and offer feedback (not to gatekeep)
Coordinating a cross-team dependency or aligning on an architecture change
Hiring activities: interviewing, feedback, and improving our hiring signal
Running or improving a retro, turning insights into small, actionable experiments
2+ years managing software engineers; 10+ years total in engineering
Experience leading XP/DevOps practices (pairing, TDD, CI/CD, trunk-based development)
Proven coaching, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
Track record of improving delivery flow and operational excellence (SLOs/incident reviews)
Ability to collaborate deeply with Product & Design; strong stakeholder communication
Sufficient technical depth to support decisions in a cloud-native environment (TypeScript/Node.js or Go, AWS)
Bias for simplicity, incremental change, and sustainable pace
Ultimate flexibility: We're 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
Freedom and autonomy: We're a high-trust team, and you'll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
Minimum bureaucracy: We don't like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.
