Software Developer Role

You will be part of the Ground Support Systems area that develops ground-based support systems for Gripen. The systems are central in both the tactical and technical loop to ensure high availability and operational efficiency!

Your role

In your job as a software developer, you will have the opportunity to work in the entire development chain. From concept, design and programming to delivery of a finished product. Based on your competencies and wishes as well as the project's needs, your role in the project is shaped, which means that in some projects you work in the entire chain while other projects require you to specialize in a part of it. The language we primarily use in our daily development work is C#.

Mission Support System, MSS, consists of a number of applications that run on a powerful PC. The system is built on a multimedia platform (audio/video/sensors) with presentation in 2D and 3D maps where the user can create routes, plan communication, sensors and get support to make fuel calculations. When the planning is complete, the mission is uploaded to the aircraft.

The role as a software developer with us involves:

Your profile

As a person, you are positive, outgoing, driven, results-oriented and an excellent team player. System or technical education from university/college is desirable but knowledge acquired through other education and work experience is also interesting.

We are looking for both those who are newly graduated and those with previous work experience in software development projects. Suitable education for the job is a university education focused on systems development/IT.

It is meritorious if you have experience with, for example, open source development but also own hobby projects in software development. Previous experience in, for example, backend, frontend or full stack development and C# .Net is also meritorious. Once you are in place with us, you will receive help from your colleagues to get into your new tasks, which we will adapt to your experience and knowledge.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, it may, in appropriate cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
