Your Role

As a mechanical engineer at Saab, you will be an important part of our journey towards the next generation defense system. You will work on developing and shaping future security solutions, with a special focus on advanced products in aviation technology. Your role will be central throughout the product lifecycle, from idea to delivery and maintenance.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and design mechanical solutions for demanding environments.
• Ensure that sufficient studies of architectures, technical analyses, common hardware solutions, product quality are achieved, and that correct engineering processes and methods are followed.
• Work in CAD tools and PDM systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: project managers, suppliers, and customers.
• Ensure that our products withstand everything from vibrations and corrosion to extreme temperatures.

Your Profile

For this role, we are looking for:

• A civil engineering degree/university degree in mechanical engineering, electronics, product development, or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with CAD, such as NX or Creo.
• A results-driven mindset where drive and curiosity are in focus.
• Experience in systems engineering work can be meritorious.
• Strong skills in various manufacturing techniques and production methods.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, it may, in appropriate cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
