The Complex Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for a range of HR functions. They are also responsible for filling all hourly positions promptly, ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork, understanding and enforcing company policies, and assisting with benefits and workers' compensation tasks.
Responsibilities include administering insurance benefits, conducting prescreening interviews, responding to unemployment claims, maintaining various logbooks, compiling wage surveys, monitoring Workman's Compensation claims, answering questions regarding 401K Plan, vacation and benefits, maintaining a complimentary room night log, preparing and placing recruitment advertising, processing paperwork for terminating employees, becoming certified trainer in all Human Resources training modules, ensuring compliance with all HR and related Loss Prevention SOP's, participating in Highgate Hotel Enrichment Committee, scheduling Highgate Hotel Orientation, assisting in Highgate Hotel Orientation, writing articles and taking pictures for property newsletter, assisting with special projects, planning employee events, coordinating Travel Reduction Program, maintaining First Aid log, and performing other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications include at least 2 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry, previous supervisory responsibility preferred, college course work in related field helpful, high school diploma or equivalent required, long hours are sometimes required, experience in a union environment is required, sedentary work, maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, effective communication both verbally and written, effective listening and understanding, multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines, attending all hotel-required meetings and training, participating in M.O.D. coverage as required, maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations, maximizing efforts towards productivity, identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing solutions, effective handling of problems, understanding and evaluating complex information, maintaining confidentiality of information.
