For our office in Grace-Hollogne (Liège), Belgium, we are looking for:

The R&D Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design of rotating machines (parts and assemblies) in the field of kinetic energy storage systems and power generation. She/He drives projects from design specification to prototyping and validation.

She/He contributes actively to new product invention, shaping the next generation dynamic UPS, and to continuous improvement of the mtu Kinetic PowerPack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define design specifications, project planning and participate to prototype testing.
  • Identify solutions and make recommendations in line with the technical objectives (performance, safety, compliance with applicable standards, cost).
  • Design assemblies, draft parts, write specifications.
  • Run technical calculations, in collaboration with specialized engineering teams of the group.
  • Assist Operations and Quality Department for the procurement of parts, manufacturing and assembly.
  • Assure proper product documentation and certification.
  • Actively contribute to product safety management.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant engineering branch.
  • Relevant work experience (min. 5 years).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Curious and eager to learn.
  • Proficient in the use of 3D design tools (e.g. CREO, Solidworks) and PLM (e.g. Windchill), including 2D drawings with geometrical and dimensional aspects.
  • Fluent in English; French or German are assets.
