The Opportunity

As a PI Engineer (d/f/m) you are part of the circle "Pharma Engineering Drug Product" at the location Basel / Kaiseraugst. We are responsible for the innovative, GMP-compliant engineering as well as the reliable operation of complex production facilities in the galenics and packaging. In a modern working environment we support our business partners from the first idea through project implementation to the life-cycle management of the systems.

In this role you are the central interface between production, pharma engineering and ITOT. You actively shape the digital landscape of our production site by not only maintaining existing systems but also building the data structure of the future.

Your core tasks are:

• System Architect: You are responsible for the connection of automation systems to our Data Historian (AVEVA PI) including the configuration of the corresponding interfaces and the continuous maintenance over the lifecycle of these systems.
• Solution Design: You analyze requirements for the PI-System together with internal business partners and implement optimal, GMP-compliant solutions.
• Project Management: You plan and manage projects with a focus on PI-Historian – from specification to handover to the operation.
• Operation & Support: Together with the team you ensure the administration and smooth operation (including error analysis, root-cause analyses and deviation handling).
• Compliance: You manage change control processes as well as qualification and validation activities according to Roche guidelines.
• Knowledge Transfer: You train employees and support our customers with technical questions as well as authority inspections.

We work in self-organized specialist teams without classical hierarchies. This requires a high degree of self-responsibility, team spirit and pronounced communication skills.

Who You Are

You are an honest person who likes to question conventional thinking patterns and brings a high service mentality.

• Education: Study or training in computer science, electrical engineering, automation technology or a comparable field.
• Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AVEVA PI as well as experience in connecting automation systems and maintaining these connections over the lifecycle.
• IT Architecture: Broad understanding of network technology and system integration in the industrial environment.
• Experience: Several years of practice as a system engineer or project manager, ideally in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Languages: Negotiating proficiency in German and English.
• Know-how in the automated production of pharmaceutical products.
• Routine in the administration of complex IT infrastructures for production.
