The Position

The modern production facility for parenteralia in Kaiseraugst (PKau) is responsible for the manufacture of sterile pharmaceuticals and supplies the global market with biopharmaceutical pharmaceutical products. At the lyophilization line (GEF), pre-prepared solutions are aseptically filled and subsequently lyophilized. The line has its own capacities for thawing/freezing and for compounding.

The Opportunity

As a mechanic (m/w/d) you are part of the maintenance team within the manufacturing unit sterile filling and are subordinate to the technical asset care lead. In your role, you work closely with the production units in the value stream and the local interfaces. The willingness to work across areas is of course expected.

The position is located in Kaiseraugst, and is fixed-term for 2 years and full-time. The position includes shift work (in 6/4 shift operation; twice early, twice late, twice nights, 4 days off).

The following activities are part of your duties:

• You are responsible for the mechanical availability of the process equipment, including production support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving (first level support)
• Recognize, analyze, and properly resolve malfunctions of highly automated systems
• Properly and independently carry out planned maintenance tasks as well as format changes on the process equipment
• Safe working in the GMP environment, including in the clean room and GMP-compliant documentation of the maintenance tasks carried out
• Support the interfaces, in particular the operations and automation engineering including validation and qualification activities
• Independently develop and carry out smaller plant optimizations in compliance with change management including training of employees in the handling of the systems
• Increase plant availability through participation and implementation of continuous improvement measures (KVP) such as managing spare parts and wear parts or creating and optimizing maintenance plans

Who You Are

• Completed technical training as a mechanic (m/w/d)
• At least 3 years of professional experience, ideally in pharmaceutical production (sterile filling) or in a highly regulated environment
• Further education to master is advantageous
• Very good German language skills in speech and writing
• English language skills are advantageous
• Knowledge in the SAP-PM module as well as in the LPS (lean production system) is advantageous
