The Position

Hoffmann-La Roche AG bekommen Sie einen einzigartigen Einblick in die Produktion von chemischen und biologischen aktiven pharmazeutischen Wirkstoffen für die kommerzielle und klinische Versorgung. Um die höchsten Standards in Qualität, Sicherheit und Effizienz zu gewährleisten, suchen wir einen engagierten Manufacturing Engineer für den Bereich Asset Care, der die technische Betreuung und Optimierung unserer Produktionsanlagen verantwortet.

The Opportunity

As a Manufacturing Engineer at the Basel production site, you will support the team in various aspects. In the area of event management and deviation management, you will be responsible for processing and concluding technical deviations. In the context of change management, you will take on the owner function for the implementation of technical plant changes as well as the processing and implementation of actions and assessments. As a subject matter expert, you will act as the central interface between production, technology, and quality assurance. Are you interested in taking on the responsibility as a technical specialist for technical deviations, conducting root cause analyses, and participating in project management for the execution and organization of projects in collaboration with the engineering department? Then the position as Manufacturing Engineer is just right for you.

Plant Responsibility and Technical Support:

  • Taking on the technical owner function for assigned process plants
  • Performing troubleshooting and in-depth cause analysis for technical malfunctions
  • Ensuring the validated and qualified state of the plants and processes

Project Management and Continuous Improvement (KVP):

  • Representing production as a specialist expert in CAPEX projects from planning to commissioning (including support of IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Identifying and implementing optimization potentials to increase plant efficiency, product performance, and work safety

GMP Compliance and Audit Support:

  • Ensuring inspection readiness as well as compliance with GMP and SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) requirements
  • Technical representation during regulatory inspections and audits
  • In the area of event management and deviation management, you are responsible for processing and concluding technical deviations
  • In the context of change management, you take on the owner function for the implementation of technical plant changes as well as the processing and implementation of actions and assessments

The role includes participation in the rotating on-call duty.

Who You Are

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you have a university degree in biotechnology, process engineering, or a comparable field, or you are an experienced production expert with a completed vocational training, ideally in the field of pharmatechnological manufacturing or in a related area. You have professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry (technological production, development, quality assurance and control) or in a related industry. Furthermore, you possess the following competencies and skills:

  • Willingness to work in a self-organized team with a high degree of self-responsibility in an open and collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of agile management would be desirable.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and the ability to achieve consistent high-level performance in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and quality awareness.
  • Good technical understanding, strong quality awareness, and secure PC user skills.
  • Interest in understanding and getting to know the upstream and downstream process steps.
  • Very good German language skills as well as basic English language skills in speech and writing are required.
